Review Canon Pixma MX330

Pixma MX330

Performance of Canon Pixma MX330, As you can tell from the benchmarks, the MX330 demonstrated only average speed across the board.

The control panel, set into the sloping front face of the ADF surround, contains a small, colour LCD display, which presents most of the status information on the machine. Given that it has a graphic LCD display it's odd there are no corresponding memory card slots, so you can preview photos before printing, though it does have a PictBridge socket, which doubles as a walk-up print facility for USB drives. Canon's reasoning is that the MX series is for small business and, if you want photo facilities, you buy one of the PIXMA MP series machines.

To the left of the main LCD display are three large buttons for copy, fax and scan, while to the right, a cluster of buttons includes a ring for menu navigation, a fax number pad and others to select black or colour, and to cancel a job. The controls work well together and the machine is simple and logical to use.

The Canon MX330 suffered a bit in the photo speed test at just 0.93 pages per minute, just ahead of the J6480 that came in last with only 0.83 pages per minute. It jumped ahead most noticeably in the color text speed test at 5.54 page per minute in a tie with the HP OfficeJet J6480, that's almost two times the cost of the Canon.

we can forgive the MX330 for dropping the ball on the photo print speed, since the rest of the scores are at least average or faster than the competition,

The Canon Pixma MX330 doesn't produce the best quality prints, but you won't find a more versatile printer in the sub-$150 category. An auto-document feeder, 1.8-inch LCD screen, and easy-to-use features make it an excellent choice for creative homes on a budget.

But there are a advantage if you buy this printer : Inexpensive; includes auto-document feeder; robust software suite; 1.8-inch LCD; small footprint.
